This is an open call for current and alumni film school students in Western Sweden to participate in a 3-day workshop where directors, film workers, scriptwriters, actors, producers etc will collaborate to create a film together.

Who are we

We are Filmcentrum Väst, an organization and platform for professional and semi-professional filmmakers to organize, support each other, and collaborate to strengthen creators' positions in the job market.

The workshop is coached and led by filmmakers and directors Cecilia Torquato de Oliveira and Lina Cordoba. Cecilia, a Swedish-Brazilian director, artist, and screenwriter, portrays power and human vulnerability through poetic and sensory filmmaking. Lina, originally from Bogotá, explores sensory storytelling as a tool for social change and a means of sharing knowledge through collaborative and innovative methods.

About the project

One of our main aims is to create connections between filmmakers in the west of Sweden to help kickstart collaborations. As part of this, we are developing a 3-day workshop to gather film school students and alumnis (director, scriptwriter, producer, filmarbetarutbildningen) to make a short film together. 

​

The workshop will take place in the spring of 2025, on the following 3 days: 

11 April Friday at 3 - 8 pm (preproduction / choosing the idea)

12 April Saturday 9am - 8 pm (production / shooting)

13 April Sunday 9am - 8 pm (editing starts at 4 pm)

How to apply

For this collaborative project we are welcoming...

Apply with your respective roles, but please be open to take on different roles when the teams are formed.

About Filmcentrum Väst

Filmcentrum Väst is a platform for professional and semi-professional filmmakers to organize, support each other in filmmaking, and collaborate to strengthen creators' positions in the job market. Our primary task is to improve filmmakers' working conditions, which we do through skills development, feedback groups, co-working, pitch workshops, etc. There is also the opportunity to show films and work-in-progress to an audience.
